expression profile of 70 pre-selected genes in a sample of a women´s
surgically-removed breast cancer tumor and then uses a specific formula or

The CupPrint laboratory service from Agendia confidently reveals the origin of the
primary tumor in patients presenting with cancer metastases and diagnosed with
CUP (Cancer of Unknown Primary). CupPrint is an in vitro diagnostic test that
compares the gene expression profile from a metastasis against established
profiles from 49 different tumor types in the CupPrint database in order to
determine the origin of the cancer. Analytical results are available within days, saving valuable time. The expense and
emotional turmoil associated with other extensive diagnostic procedures can be
avoided. By knowing the identity of the primary tumor, physicians are able to optimize patient management through improved treatment regimes that are guided by tumor-type specific therapy. Therapeutic responses and overall prognoses
